Life is one of the greatest classrooms that there is. Here are a few “things I have learned” in mine….

  • Follow your heart in all things – in love, in your career and with God – and you will never have to wonder “what if?”
  • Life is not all black and white – many parts of it are shades of grey – so judge accordingly.
  • Great love involves great risk.
  • It’s not what you have, it’s who you have.
  • Just because you’ve silenced a man doesn’t mean you’ve convinced him.
  • Three things keep progress dead – personalities, politics and pride.
  • Love finds options, not excuses.
  • When your house is burning it’s hard to be joyful.
  • Class never goes out of style.
  • You will only have a handful of people in your lifetime who understand you – your core, your strengths, your faults, your weaknesses. Don’t let them out of your life – they are invaluable, they can help guide you.
  • When they say “It’s not about _____”, it almost always IS about “_____”
  • Embrace knowledge and learning and you will stay young in spirit.
  • Life is serious! Remember to have fun along the way.
  • The extremes in your life – whether bad OR good – will prove to you who your real friends are.
  • Nothing breeds misunderstanding faster than silence.
  • The closest some folks will ever get to an altar is at their funeral.
  • You don’t have to join ever argument that you are invited to.
  • Your gut never lies.
  • Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter. (Ecclesiastes 10:20)
  • When a person shows you who they are – believe them!
  • At times you will have to let situations or people go to find out if they really belong to you.
  • Real communication starts when people feel safe.
  • Compare yourself to yourself – and no one else.
  • Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
