It’s springtime! Is there a more beautiful or pleasant time of year? After the long dark and short days of winter we need a reminder that God is a God of the living! Spring is what He chose as a tool to refresh our minds and hearts and to give us a feeling of new energy and life.

It’s so easy for us to get involved in the routine of our day-to-day lives, as well. Life is so busy! We have jobs and bills to pay and children and grandchildren and marriages and friendships and housework and yard work and…. boy, the list goes on and on, doesn’t it? It’s hard to find time for things that we WANT to do because of the things that we NEED to do.

Take church, for example. Most of us were raised to go to church on a regular basis. If you are one of those, thank your parents for giving you that God-based foundation!

Yet statistics show that there are thousands of people who allow life to interrupt their church attendance as adults. What are the reasons?

For some it’s merely that life is too busy. For others it’s that church is boring (boo for pastors that allow their churches to be stilted and boring!). Some just don’t like the reminder that church brings that they need a full relationship with God, so they stay away.

Church attendance on a regular basis with a church that is relevant and exciting can be a springtime in the winter of your regular, mundane and boring life.  The fellowship with other believers… the reminders that God loves you and cares about you and your problems in life… and the break from the realities of day-to-day living can be the springtime that you need to remind you that there is more to life than making bills and meeting obligations.

Enjoy this spring – it’s been a great one so far – and allow the beauty of it to remember how much beauty God can add to your life, if you’ll take time to meet Him and enjoy a relationship with Him.

 See you this Sunday!
