Saturday night Bro. John Keldahl preached an inspired sermon on trusting in God instead of man. Bro. Bob Perry, Sis. Mildred Cox, Bro. Bobby Reese Jr. and Sis. Joyce Perry testified before Sis. Janet Keldahl closed. Bro. Bob Reese Sr. testified at the end, and we had good fellowship before and after church.

Sat. night was our first-ever weekend meeting where we had no company. We did have Sis. LaWanna Welch, Bro. Paul Copeland, Sis. Barbara Miller and Sis. Kelli Miller with us from the Camp Ground, but they are part of our Albany church already. We had 24 in attendance, and Sis. Fay Hatcher reported to me on Sun. afternoon “Last night was the smallest number we’ve had, and the best meeting we’ve had at the same time!” We had a testimony meeting, and I counted 16 who testified – it was awesome!

On Sunday we had 34, and Sis. Mildred Davidson preached a beautiful sermon on I Corinthians 13, the “love chapter.” Bro. Bobby Reese Jr. testified and welcomed everyone, and Bro. Gil Bates, Bro. Brian Collier, Sis. Barbara Rogers, Bro. Ladell Morgan and Sis. Mae Brown Morgan, Bro. Paul Copeland, Sis. LaWanna Welch and Bro. Allen Davidson all testified before we finished – wow!

Remember, we’ll continue studying Hebrews, chapter 11 this coming Wed. night at 7:30 p.m. We’ll start in verse 8, reading about Abraham, and some of what we’ll read relates directly to us today. Folks, we need you on Wed. nights so our discussions are bigger and better, so try and be there!

Sis. Doris Dempsey preached a wonderful sermon for us. My mother, Doris Collier, watched the webcast in her home in Va. Beach and commented to my father that Sis. Doris reminded her of Bro. George Miller, Sis. Doris’ father! The testimonies were uplifting and Sis. Pam Rodgers closed and called our ending prayer. We had good fellowship before church with dinner, thanks to the direction of Sis. Fay Hatcher! We had 40 in attendance and 88 watching via webcast!
Sun. morning we enjoyed listening to Bro. Robbie Reese and Sis. Lauren Collier, two of our Albany “young folks.” Bro. Bobby Reese gave an impassioned altar call to the ten in our congregation, and all 42 of us were blessed. There were 94 watching via webcast – our biggest number ever!

Hebrews, chapter 11, starting at verse 21 at 7:30 on Wed. night of this week. Make plans to be with us as we continue to examine the importance of an active faith in our walk with God.

Sat. night Sis. Becky Collier preached, Bro. John Keldahl opened the meeting, and we had several great testimonies before we had altar call. Sis. Janet Keldahl soon walked down the aisle with Lauren Goodman, the 12 year old great-granddaughter of Bro. Sam and Sis. Hazel York, and granddaughter of Sis. Connie Dupree. It wasn’t long before Bro. Bobby Reese came down the aisle with Lauren’s father Sammy Goodman. There was much rejoicing at the altar as father and daughter soon testified to the cleansing of their sins while Sis. Connie and Bro. Sam listened!

On Sun. morning
Bro. Tommy Collier preached about the JOY of being sanctified, and
Sis. Marsha Reese preached a beautiful message about how happy she
is to be sanctified, and she quoted from memory the first two verses
of Romans, chapter 12. Sis. Goldie Foss taught all of us Norfolk
kids and had us memorize that entire chapter, and it brought tears
to my eyes to think of her while Marsha quoted those beautiful
verses. After several testimonies we went into altar service again
and Bro. Sammy and Sis. Lauren’s faces were shining after they
finished praying and asking God to fill their hearts with his Holy
spirit. We soon were shouting while singing “I’m So Glad I’m
Sanctified”! Hearts are still being touched and lives are being
changed in our red brick sanctuary in Lee County! If you’re reading
this and you’ve been thinking about coming out and/or getting
sanctified, let me close by telling you one thing Sis. Marsha said
on Sunday morning. “God worked with me for two years before I came
to the altar”, she said. “I was too hardheaded to come sooner, but
if I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have waited that long.”
